The foundations of the Department of Language and Speech Therapy were established in 1999 by the establishment of the Language and Speech Disorders Education, Research and Application Center (DILKOM) and in the 2000-2001 academic year, the Language and Speech Therapy Department was established under the Institute of Health Sciences and the Speech and Language Therapist Master's program was established in 2004 with the initiation of the Ph.D. program. To date, 94 Master's and 6 Doctoral Specialist Language and Speech Therapists have been graduated.
Language and Speech Therapy profession, biomedical sciences (anatomy, physiology, neurology, pediatrics, psychiatry, otolaryngology, genetics, physical therapy and rehabilitation, audiology etc.), clinical linguistics (phonetics, acoustics, phonology, psycholinguistics, neurolinguistics), psychology As an interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary independent science field that integrates with cognitive neuropsychology and special education sciences, it is defined as a healthcare professional on the legal basis. Education and training are carried out with compulsory and applied clinical studies, as well as providing students with elective course opportunities, contributing to meeting the need for qualified and equipped personnel with diplomas to meet the needs of the region and the country. Speech and Language Therapy is one of the most preferred and competitive professions in the world today.
Our Language and Speech Therapy department that language of instruction is Turkish, has not started admission students yet, and the total education period is 4 years.
